Gucci’s creative director named best international designer 2015

Alessandro Michele, Gucci’s creative director, will receive the International Designer Award this year 2015 at the British Fashion Awards to congratulate his great career at the front of Gucci’s image.

Gucci named Michele the Creative Director of the italian brand in January 2015 as the successor of Frida Giannini. He had already gained a lot of experience inside the brand when he occupied the position and had the recognition of the fashion world. He actually gave a new and empowered image to the brand.

This 42-year-old designer from Rome impressed this year with the three collections he presented and that is why he has been honoured with the International Designer Award 2015, the greatest prize of the British fashion. His view of fashion has been described as eclectic and the androgynous touch he gives to clothes has been applauded.

“Contemporary, romantic and original” were the words that Gucci used to describe Michele’s vision and to congratulate its Director who as been credited with reinvigorating the Italian brand.

Alessandro Michele entered Gucci in 2002 after working for Fendi and in 2011 he was designated Giannini’s assistant. He has presented four collections since he is the Creative Director that have proved why he has ended up in that position and with the British Fashion Award.

The ceremony will take place on Monday the 23rd at the London Coliseum and the British Fashion Council has shown us what will the official 2015 British Fashion Awards trophy look like, made of crystal by Swarovsky.
