The footwear brand makes its MBFWM debut with a capsule line inspired by the designer’s “Black Jungle” prints. Early adopters are already snapping them up at the online store pre-sale.
For Spring/Summer 2016, Maya Hansen is taking us to the darkest forests of Central America. “Black Jungle” develops the ‘tropical goth’ approach the designer has used to update her lingerie style, loosening corset and bustier silhouettes into something more versatile. With collections on sale in China, Japan, UAE, Kuwait, Lebanon, Poland, Netherlands, Switzerland, USA and Mexico, Maya Hansen will also be appearing at the forthcoming Paris Semaine des Créateurs de Mode. Now, the tropical prints theme which runs through her latest outfits has brought about a partnership with footwear brand Myblüchers.
These sophisticated stilettos in mesh and neoprene, and classic men’s shoes in synthetic patent leather come in pastel shades or the signature tropical print and will be made exclusively to order. Maya Hansen for Myblüchers is an evocative, escapist capsule collection for spring which, with autumn only just underway, is already hanging out the “Last items in stock” sign.
Founded in 2013, Myblüchers was born out of a passion for the eponymous classic English shoe which bears the distinctive hallmark ‘Made in Spain’, as they are 100% made on the Eastern coast in Elche. Capitalising on the success of a growing business trend in limited-edition fashion partnerships, the company allows established or newcomer brands to use their signature codes, offering special versions of this classic footwear in an extensive range of colours and leathers, with openwork or backstitching. Maya Hansen is the latest on a list that ranges from interior and furniture designer Francisco Segarra to model Minerva Portillo, UKE and Beatriz Peñalver.
With physical PoS in Spain and the UK, and now in talks to set up shop in America’s Bloomingdale’s, Myblüchers also has an e-shop which delivers worldwide. The high quality of its service guarantees are witnessed by the ‘Testimonials’ on its website, on which any customer can comment. Myblüchers is also available on e-commerce platforms like Asos, Then and Now and Fashion.ie in the UK, and Touch of Modern and Dappermans in the USA, where the brand works with the King Collective showroom, with offices in New York and Los Angeles. Its sights are now set on Japan.
